Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is a disorder
characterized by behavioral problems, learning disabilities, lack of coordination, low birth weight, predisposition to physical
ailments and many other symptoms.
These children usually have a telling facial
abnormality… a flattened effect and small, seemingly wide-spaced eyes.
The cause is brain damage to a fetus through
the mother’s consumption of alcohol during pregnancy.
Treatment is difficult and relies heavily
on education of the child’s caregivers.
