Children with anxiety disorder are worried and fearful. This diagnosis is based on the problem existing over a period
of at least 6 months, and affecting the child in all settings ( school and home). The feelings are general and the child may
not be able to pinpoint any one specific cause. These children also have physical complaints such as stomach pain, headaches
and general feelings of being ill. They may be inflexible and often are perfectionists.
Anxiety disorders are treated with counseling and/or antidepressents.
