ALPHABETICAL LIST OF COMMON PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTURBANCES

Children who are bi-polar experience great mood swings. They may be extremely energetic and happy, and an hour later may be inconsolable and sad. During the "high" cycle, they tend to talk rapidly, they make poor judgments and they have trouble concentrating...among other symptoms. The "low" cycle is characterized by sadness, trouble sleeping, sickness or pain without obvious causes and  fatigue as well as other symptoms.
Bi-polar children benefit from counseling as well as drug therapy. They require lifelong treatment.
